Beergarden and Leisurescape, Buffalo, NY

SP worked with the client to design a vibrant and flexible beergarden adjacent a new restaurant within a historic 150 year-old building. The interior beergarden is bosque-like with flagstone paving and three large canopy trees surrounded by benches and planters, and a sunken grassy lounge area. It is flanked by amenities such as a covered food truck area, shuffleboard courts, small performance space, booth seating and a meandering garden path. Mounds created with soil moved from excavations on site and meadow plantings extend the visual aspect of the gardens while providing an element of boundary to the vast undeveloped-block location.
